Profound Projects has added a superstar to our roster as of last week. We proudly present to you Erica Obersi, who joins Profound Projects as a project manager and developer. And when you look at her international track record, you will agree the title superstar is quite apropos.
Erica was born and raised in Curaçao and has returned to the island after living and working abroad for twelve years in the United States, Hong Kong and India. She is a graduate of the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she focused her studies on international economic development.
“Teamwork makes the dream work”
She also obtained a minor in journalism and was a writer for the GW Hatchet and Hong Kong Magazine. In 2013, Erica moved to New York City to complete a web development bootcamp at General Assembly. She won the top prize at the 2014 Hack/Dining NYC design competition for the app idea ‘Kitchen Check’ and was actively involved in various hackathons – so making her mad probably isn’t the best idea – and meetups.
She has developed and maintained websites for an insurance company, online magazines, and small businesses. Erica is passionate about agile project management and digital media and, in 2016, she had the opportunity to manage the technical implementation of Exxon Mobil’s digital magazine, EnergyFactor.com. That’s no small potatoes, folks.
Following her role at Exxon Mobil, Erica also managed innovative digital projects for Ernst and Young’s Better Working World campaign and the Environmental Defense Fund.
Following her role at Exxon Mobil, Erica also managed innovative digital projects for Ernst and Young’s Better Working World campaign and the Environmental Defense Fund. She has also provided support to teams of creatives, web developers and account managers across different time zones and locations. She also has extensive experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
Erica enjoys photography, hiking and painting and one can state that she is a team player through and through – I mean, her favorite quote is “Teamwork makes the dream work” for pete’s dragon. And, luckily for us, she also has a determination to help the Profound Projects team grow its professional capabilities. Cheers to that!
