F.l.t.r.: Peter Grootens, Franco Diaz(BearingPoint), Gino Jacobs, Boudino de Jong(Profound Projects)

WILLEMSTAD – As of March 1st the digital consultancy and web development company Profound Projects, consisting of a young and highly motivated team, has acquired the customer portfolio of E-sites Caribbean.

Profound Projects has grown in a relatively short time into a specialist in the field of digital consultancy and web development in Curaçao. The company mainly focuses on consultancy projects in the the field of digital transformation with web development and online marketing serving as the base of their services.

E-sites Caribbean is a subsidiary of software company BearingPoint Caribbean. As part of its growth strategy, BearingPoint has made the choice to explicitly focus on offering specific IT solutions in the market domains of tax affairs, social security and permits. They have done this on a global scale, specifically in small-scale countries, the so-called Small Island Developing States (SIDS). BearingPoint is currently conducting business in more than 10 SIDS countries in the Caribbean and the South Pacific, among other regions. And the growth is set to remain strong in the coming years. For this reason BearingPoint has decided to transfer the services and activities of E-sites Caribbean to a new strategic partner with a strong market position as a digital company.

E-sites Caribbean has been active in Curaçao since 2012 and has since developed into a key contender in developing and solving demanding digital challenges. Throughout its existence it contributed substantially to the digital strategy, websites, online marketing and apps of more than 50 customers in the Dutch Caribbean and Suriname. It has been part of the BearingPoint Group since 2016.

This acquisition was therefore a logical step for both Profound Projects and E-sites Caribbean. “In our search for a good acquisition partner it was of essential importance to us that this partner carry on our services. We wanted the acquisition partner to not only be digitally strong, but also experienced and professional and with the customer at heart. We have made an informed decision and we are confident that Profound Projects will offer this service and guarantee the same quality and continuity”, says Avinash Grootens, Managing Director BearingPoint.
Profound Projects has been working on the internationalization of its services for some time now, closely cooperating with Ngrane, who played an important role in this acquisition. Ngrane is their strategic partner in the Netherlands and a specialist in the field of digital strategy, user experience and platforms. “With the acquisition of E-sites Caribbean’s portfolio we are entering the market of Aruba, Sint Maarten and Suriname and we may now assist even more renowned support companies and agencies in achieving their digital goals”, says Boudino de Jong, Managing Director of Profound Projects.
Gino Jacobs, Managing Director of Profound Projects continues: “This acquisition only has winners. Thanks to the further expansion of our organization, we can now offer customers even better assistance and provide them with dedicated specialist knowledge. At the same time, we may consider ourselves fortunate, as relative newcomers in the international arena, to be in the slipstream of BearingPoint, who have gained a lot of ground internationally. This in turn provides us with further opportunities for internationalization through our strategic cooperation. And with this, both BearingPoint and Profound Projects are contributing to Curaçao’s strategic expansion of export services “.
